About Me

Welcome! Good to have you here!

I grew up in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, (1977 to 1993) after which I have lived in the United States (Baylor University, Texas) and the United Arab Emirates (AUS, Sharjah) before moving back to Lahore in 2007.

I studied at the American University of Sharjah (affiliated with the American University of Washington) to secure my professional degree in Architecture. I worked in Dubai for several years, after which I moved back to my birthplace, Lahore, Pakistan in 2008.

I worked for a housing society, Sukh Chayn Gardens, where my projects have includes the Mavi Mosque, Palm 1 Avenue, McDonald’s along with multiple numbers of homes and farmhouses.

While in my eighth year of working at Sukh Chayn Gardens, I joined an extensive course in psychotherapy with CPCAB, UK. I completed Level III (Certificate in Humanistic Counselling) and Level IV (Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling).

I left my job as an architect in 2018 (after having worked there for a decade) and fully involved myself in my career: psychotherapy. Today, I am working as an independent psychotherapist and Master NLP practitioner.

This new career path that I have chosen feels like a true calling to me, where I am living my life with authenticity and with a fulfilling purpose.

My Blog

I got into writing when friends started enjoying my mini movie reviews on Facebook. One thing led to another and I started my blog here. I write mostly about books and movies and have recently added travel to my list. I have to admit- I am not a writer, nor do I have any formal training in writing. I just write from my heart, or whatever is on my mind.

I started my blog back in 2004 when I was in Saudi Arabia. Back then, I was blogging on Blogger.com but now I have switched over to WordPress and was able to get my own domain. I aim to just compile all my writings on this blog: book and movie reviews, restaurant reviews, travel experiences.

I have been fortunate enough to have published my book reviews in The Good Life, a magazine that comes out from Royal Palm Golf and Country Club (this has been discontinued). I was also privileged enough to work as a contributor to The Huffington Post. A few of my articles have been published in The Nation newspaper as well.

Gratitude

At the end of the day, my life is consumed with gratitude, which I believe is the root of achieving happiness and peace in life.

Motto: #attitudeofgratitude
