With such a strong publicity campaign and hype created around this movie, thanks to a very sinister looking Angelina Jolie, expectations were very high for the movie, and they didn’t stay high for long.

Story is adapted from Sleeping Beauty, and it’s told from the witch’s point of view and why she becomes so evil. She places a curse on the princess, who falls into a sleep of death, and can only be awoken by true love’s kiss (and the true love kiss will shock you!) The thing with Maleficent is that the evil character is so good, and brilliant portrayed by Jolie, you root for her and just don’t care about anyone else in the movie. You want for her to win, to succeed and live happily ever after.
