World War Z

A former UN worker travels the globe in search of a cure to combat the global virus outbreak which creates hungry zombies. Brad Pitt didn’t have to to do much acting, but the premise and set-up was excellent. Movie jumps right into zombie action and doesn’t let go of the thrills till the end. With some thrilling action scenes (Plane sequence, Jerusalem fort) to some really creepy, tense moments (apartment scene, WHO facility scene) World War Z delivered it for me.

However, am a bit disappointed about the lack of gore and blood, and am hoping the gore content is higher in the sequel. Bring on the sequel.

In summary, World War Z is all about nature overpowering human race as said by one character in the movie: “Mother Nature is a serial killer. She wants to get caught, she leaves bread crumbs, she leaves clues… Mother nature knows how to disguise her weakness as strength.”

(Little unknown fact: World War Z is based on a novel by Max Brooks. As with all movies, the book is a lot better as there is more written about global conspiracies, government control and ineptitude, social commentary on world population etc.)

7/10 and you have all have a great weekend!
