There is so much going for this movie (acting, visuals, 3D, soundtrack) that I won’t know where to stop. The movie perfectly encapsulated the roaring 20s of NYC, with its bustling, decadent party lifestyle and the superficiality of it all. Well written characters, great dialogues, memorable quotes (after all it’s based on a classic book).
The movie is a visual masterpiece and anyone who loves creativity in all forms will surely delight in this movie (architecture, costumes, cars etc). Directed by Baz Luhrmann, I applaud the director’s vision for this movie for I was totally immersed in this movie for all of 2 hours, and what an amazing two hours those were.
4.5/5
PS. Amitabh Bachchan was a waste in this movie and didn’t pass off for a westerner.
